Meet The Team
William Reill - Director
William is a seasoned director with years of experience working in all aspects of theatre. He has traveled Canada and the United States performing, directing, producing and facilitating educational opportunities for over 35 years.
William’s directorial highlights span productions such as “A Chorus Line”, “James and the Giant Peach”, “The Music Man JR”, “Our Town”, “Little Women”, “Snapshots”, and most recently “The Mystery of Edwin Drood”. His notable performances include leading roles in “Chess”, “Assassins”, “Godspell”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Into the Woods”, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”, and more.
Having fallen in love with the musical “Oliver!” as a boy, William is thrilled to be joining the artistic team for Theatre Unlimited’s spring production. “It’s a musical I have always wanted to direct”, he says. “It’s as important a work as it was when Charles Dickens wrote his original novel. With themes of community, loyalty, sympathy, friendship, social structure and the relationship of poverty and crime, it’s themes remain universally relevant”.
Joanne Chow - Choreographer
Joanne is very excited to return to the Theatre Unlimited family as the choreographer for “Oliver” after Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2023.
For the past 40 years, Joanne feels very fortunate to have worked as a professional dancer, choreographer, director, producer and performing arts educator. She especially enjoys working in community theatres, which through collaboration brings together many diverse people from different backgrounds, cultures, age, and race.
Joanne now divides her time between: traveling around world with her loved ones; working with inspiring people and organizations such as Toronto Children’s Chorus, Hamilton Children’s Choir, McMaster University Choir, and various community theatres; and most recently, returning to NYC to work with her former professional dance company.
Joanne cannot wait to start “Oliver” with the many talented people in the very supportive environment of TUPA.
Adam Brox - Music Director
Adam has been involved with music almost his entire life, but only recently got involved with community theatre. His first role as an adult was in Brampton Music Theatre’s The Wizard of Oz, where he portrayed Uncle Henry & The Emerald City Guard. Adam has been a music educator with the Peel District School board for over two decades.
“Oliver!” holds a special nostalgic place in my mind. It was the last musical I performed when in high school. I am so thrilled to be a part of this vibrant creative team as we strive to bring this musical to life on the stage for a new generation of musical theatre goers.
Past music direction shows: Beauty and the Beast, The Addams Family (vocal direction, The Woodlands School), Legally Blonde Jr, Newsies Jr (music director, Brampton Music Theatre Youth), Little Shop of Horrors (vocal instructor, Huron Heights Secondary School)
Ann DeNardis-Tomcko - Stage Manger
Ann is thrilled to have the opportunity to join this fun artistic team. This is Ann’s 4th show with TUPA. Recent Stage Management credits include Mamma Mia (TUPA 2024) We Will Rock You (EMP 2023), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (TUPA 2023), 42nd Street (EMP 2022). Sound of Music (BMT 2022). Ann is a hard working, accountable, creative and, hopefully, a really fun Stage Manager. She will be responsible for maintaining our rehearsal schedule, ensuring rehearsals are running efficiently but most importantly, she is dedicated to ensuring that all of the technical components come together seamlessly once the show moves into the theatre.
Michael Buchert - Producer
Michael is excited to produce "Oliver" with this extremely talented Team. Community Theatre is a special place as it allows for the building of personal growth and expression. It brings together people from various backgrounds and interests. It allows for family's to play together and above all it entertains. He is especially excited to produce this show once again as it holds a special part in his heart. Oliver was the first show he performed in with his beloved wife Gloria almost 30 years ago. He also recognizes all the dear friends he made back then and now. He encourages everyone to get involved both on and off stage.
Don't miss out - Get involved - Your life will be richer for it.
Katie Prestage - Assistant Producer
Katie is excited to step into the role of Assistant Producer for this year's production of Oliver! Since joining Theatre Unlimited 15 years ago, she has remained an active member of the community, both on stage and behind the scenes with the Encore Series. Katie looks forward to this new opportunity and can't wait to welcome both new and returning faces to the Theatre Unlimited family.
